Memorial website in the memory of your loved one
His legacy
A day for Jamie!

As mentioned before, we had a 'Fun day' in Jamie's memory on June 4th 2006. We had a bouncy castle and face painting for the children and family and friends were able to have a look through photos of our precious angel and remember him together.

At around 5pm every child let a blue balloon go, sending them up to our little mate. It was a very poignant moment in a lovely, fun day.

We wanted the day to be about remembering Jamie in a positive way, focusing on what he bought to us all. We felt the need, at the time, to be surrounded by family and friends and to celebrate our little boy's life.

Although there wasn't a huge focus on raising money, we did have some collection boxes about, should people wish to make donations. On this ocassion we chose to support 'Cerebra' a charity who support brain injured children. We managed to raise £1000 for the charity, which was fantastic. The money went towards buying a special bike for a child with cerebral palsy.

The day was a perfect way to remember our son with pride, in a positive way.........

Jamie's Train!
When we lost our precious boy, Jamie, we desperately wanted something positive to come out of such a tragedy. We felt that it would be appropriate for his school, Damsonwood Nursery and Infant school, should benefit. We spoke to Jamie's teachers, Jamie was in the nursery at the school, and they showed us some things that the school would like. We eventually decided on the huge wooden train, 'Jamie's Train' which we ordered and paid for with donations people made on the day of our son's funeral. As well as this we also had the money to buy a big sandpit, sunk into the ground, along with lots of toys, and a huge 'dressing up set' with all sorts of fab outfits, hats, and props for the children to use. Jamie's nanny made a special cover for the rail on which we hung all of the outfits.

We went along to the school with family and friends and helped to paint the fence which had been erected to corden off our wonderful train. Phil prepared the ground for the sandpit and before we knew it, Jamie's school had some wonderful new equipment in his memory.

Jamie's teachers organised a special assembly in which they remembered J and thanked us for the new things, especially the train. The children had even made a special book telling us all about what the train meant to them and how much they liked it. A memorial area at the school had also been set up, with some hanging baskets and a special plaque for Jamie. We had an article written about the train on the front of the Solihull paper to tell people about Jamie and why we had donated the train.

To do this was a perfect way to keep Jamie's memory alive and for something positive to come out of such a tradgedy. It is so nice to think of the train bringing so much fun and laughter to children at Jamie's school.
